Football's social daily, the Premier League podcast. They call football the beautiful game, but my word can it be ugly at times. Apparently, our beautiful game is for sale. If your name's Gianni Infantino, the FIFA president is getting it from all angles after his horrendous plan to sell stakes in the World Cup to outside investors. UEFA, the combined European nations, have stood against him, saying, this game is not for sale. Nations have threatened to boycott the World Cup and it is left FIFA in a real mess, just weeks after the end of the World Cup. We'll talk about that on today's FSD. We'll also discuss the chaos that is Chelsea Football Club signing Valentin Barco, signing Danny Welbeck, but at the same time, being slapped with a chance in Barco, which had they not owned up to some of their misdemeanors could have cost them relegation. Yes, we're talking about the ridiculous off-field state of English football again. Welcome to Football Social Daily. My name's Nile. I was away last week. Marley Anderson wasn't, so he had the pain to go through of talking about Eddie Howe's departure. And now we've got more pain, Marley, talking about stuff which really shouldn't be talking about. It's just so flating. Anyway, how are you? I'm all right, yeah. Just dealing with the fallout from Eddie Howe's dismissal or stepping down, I mean, while Chelsea are all just pissing money up the wall on anyone they want and get away with all sorts, which is, it just dampens your hopes for football. There's times in people's sliding doors times where people realise something and it's just, it's, it's happening this last year or two with football that it is just a cartel at the top. They can, they, they play a different game to the other 14 teams in the Premier League and then the Premier League play a different game to all the EFL 72 clubs and stuff like that. It's just, it's so deflating this whole Chelsea stuff with how are these? How are these? You know, they can't keep getting away with this to, to quote a famous, a famous line. They can't keep getting away with this. It's like, but they do, they just keep getting away with it. They keep cheating and they're still propped up by something that happened 23 years ago when some random Russian just came in and decided to try and get these money hidden in the UK economy rather than running away and hiding it from letting me view it. Like the game's just fucked. Where do you want to start? Which avenue of fucked do you want to go down? Do you want to go down? Fucked by a Chelsea or fucked by FIFA? I don't know. The both, the both horrible situations. Maybe FIFA to be honest. It's, it's kind of, it's sorted itself out a little bit now because it's not happening, isn't it? But you wanted it to happen and you can't hide something that you, you want to, you know, it was already there. It's like if you ask a girl out and she says, no one calls you a weapon and everyone knows it. But then you go, no, I didn't mean it. I didn't mean it. And then it was just a joke. Like it's, it's still there. People still know it happened. Same with the European super league thing, you know, when Spurs and Chelsea and Arsenal are part of the statements, we're going to join a super league and everyone went, you absolute bunch of whatever. And then the tweets are still there to this day that they wanted to leave the Premier League. And it's still going to be there in history that Janie and Fantino wanted to sell the World Cup, which is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard. Massively controversial plans, which as you say have now been withdrawn. In Fantino had offered the 211 member associations, the countries which play international football, 40 million US dollars or 30 million pounds. If they stood behind him in a proposal to sell part of the World Cup to investors, basically stakes in the tournament. Now, that to me sounds like a bribe. Sounds like an incentive. Here you go. Here's 30 million quid. If you back my idea to sell the World Cup, the biggest sporting event on the planet to private investors. Now we've just had a controversial World Cup where the president of the USA is getting involved with on field matters. That was a disgrace in itself. This however, just when you thought you couldn't be surprised by FIFA, this comes out. It says a lot to me, Marley, that UEFA have come out of this smelling of roses. And they're the ones on the right side of history. We know how corrupt UEFA have been accused of being over the years. But the fact that all of the European nations and many other nations around the world stood against in Fantino's plan, saying, no, the World Cup is not for sale. You cannot have private investors putting money into the World Cup. For some people, they might not understand why that's such a problem. But for many people, it's just a step too far, isn't it? It's tampering in the game, which has already been bastardized and tampered with so many times over the years. It is. And it's no coincidence to me that this has happened just after the World Cup in America where Donald Trump has his little fat orange fingers in every decision that in Fantino's made, there is no doubt in my mind that Donald Trump has planted this idea in Gianni and Fantino's head. And he's probably, if everything had played out, he would have probably made a lot of money from it, Donald Trump, as in, it would have probably been one of his companies that buys, buys part of the World Cup. He's already said he wants to host it again in four years time, again, completely impossible because the Saudis have got it. And then he wants to host the World Cup again in his presidency. And somebody said, well, you can only run for, you can only be president of the US, I think, twice, ever. And he's like, well, we'll say about that. And he's like, the guy, you cannot say no to him, he's bizarre. It's no wonder the allegations that they're against him are against him because the guy does not take no for an answer. He's just like, no, I can do it. I can do this. I hate him. I don't know how much you've read into this. But one of the key investment groups in this project had it gone forward was a company called Thrive Eternal, Adventure Capital firm, founded by a man called Joshua Kushner. Joshua Kushner is the brother of Donald Trump's son-in-law. Boom, there it is. I'll give Tanzania 40 million quid and they won't be able to turn that down to the elbow for me. And you know, 40 million dollars or 30 million quid or whatever it was buys a lot of, it buys a majority of votes because realistically, the ones that would turn down 40 million are the ones that won't need it. And that's probably 30 or 40 countries tops. That leaves 150, 160, 170, saying, yeah, we'll take the money because we've got no real interest in the World Cup. We are Tanzania. We're probably never going to qualify for it or India or whatever. I mean, they're all going to take the money rather than the sporting thing, but it's just dirty on old again. He said a few weeks ago, it's not related to football at all this, but he said something like, there's no way his family ever make an investment without knowing some sort of some sort of gated knowledge that they shouldn't know. And you know, like they know about certain deals before time, so they can invest in it basically. And I was like, and I was like, this guy's just admitted, this is inside a trade and people go to, it's a felony, people go to jail for this for many, many years. And he's just like, yeah, my whole family do it and what it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you're a felon. Because he'll just pardon you. And he's a felon, he's a felon himself. So why would it matter? Honestly, he's so, oh mate, he's so bent, it's unbelievable. And then he's now getting his little footprints into football and it's like, did you know, we need to separate from this guy as much as possible. We need to kick in Fantino out. Maybe World One World governing body was easy enough because the way it was going last last year, sorry last week, we would have had to like a year or two weeks, wouldn't we? Every two years, sorry. We've had Sep Blatter and his corruption selling the World Cup to nations that maybe shouldn't have had it. We've had Michel Platini and his collusion and involvement with Sep Blatter in all of that as the head of UEFA. We've now got in Fantino's trying to sell the game. It seems to me that it doesn't really matter who comes in to replace Gianni and Fantino because FIFA's rotten. And we've known that for years. And yet we still try and enjoy the World Cup and we still try and enjoy the game in the way that it's played these days. But as we'll talk about with Chelsea, there are so many external factors now which the general football fan needs to get their head around. It just feels like this scandal after scandal after scandal and you know, FIFA have a huge problem. Their reputation was dashed with Sep Blatter. It was partially rebuilt by Gianni and Fantino and now look what he's done. He's just as bad as the rest of them. I don't understand how everybody at the top of big organisations, the greed takes over them. The absolute greed to want more. Gianni and Fantino gets paid just under 5 million pounds a year. And in most of the time of his job, he goes around and watches every football match you can from the comfy seats in corporate boxes and meets people and shakes hands and takes pictures and stuff like that. I understand he probably does some work behind the scenes of organising and meetings and Zoom calls and whatever. But 5 million quid a year, Gianni, that's enough mate. That's enough. And somebody apparently in this whole deal said to him like, is that not, is it, you're not happy enough like just taking this, you know, why are we trying to risk like people hitting us for taking FIFA to market? Basically taking the work up to market. And he was like, no, no, this is serious money. What is serious money when you get in 5 million quid a year? That's enough for a normal bloke. 5 million quid is more than enough but not to greedy bastards at the top of every world game. No, that's not enough. How's it not enough? What can't you afford? You've got to buy a fucking bouquet tomorrow if you wanted because you've got it in the bank. You silly bowl twat. And listen, we always say politics and sport are intrinsically linked whether people say, oh, they shouldn't mix. It's impossible. They are mixed and they will continue to mix forever. And at the risk of not sounding like we are batting for a particular political team when it comes to the USA, I heard Mamdani, the New York Mayor, say something quite interesting the other day, where he was asked why he refused to pay rise. And he said, I've not knocked on anyone's door in New York City and their concerns are the mayor isn't paid enough. And I just thought that despite whether you agree with his politics or disagree with his politics, I just thought that was quite a refreshing thing to hear from anyone in the political spectrum to say that. And it's the same situation, you know, it is greed and football, unfortunately, is so greedy right now. It's eroding itself in the worst possible way. It is inflicting so much damage upon itself. And you know, if these people, these figures at the top of the game are getting away with it and doing these things, then we would be naive not to think that it doesn't happen closer to home in the Premier League and in other organizations. And we're going to talk about that with Chelsea. I think if you're one of these people that says, our football and politics shouldn't mix, you are the type of person that they prey on. As in, you will just blindly follow up football because it's football. And that is why decisions like this at the top of the game get made because they know they take you for granted as a as a fan. They know that you'll tune in and watch the World Cup every four years. They know that you'll tune in and watch the Champions League every week. If you go to the Premier League, they know that you're going to tune in and pay your season ticket costs and your sky sports subscriptions and stuff like that. So that's why decisions get made at the top, which are just not right for the spirit of the game. The whole goodness of football is so intrinsically linked and it goes back 100, like 120, 150 years or whatever in this country and across the world. And instead of trying to make it better, everyone's trying to take us at their piece of the pie and run away with it and they want more money for doing less and less and less. That's why these deals get done because they take you for granted as a consumer. You are you are just pillaged, you are just taken, you're getting the peace taken out of you because you love you love football and you'll you'll watch it anywhere. And everyone's guilty of it. But if you turn up and say, oh, well, football and politics shouldn't really mix, then you're going to open your eyes a bit. Why hasn't he quit? Because he's a scumbag because it's ego. Yeah, yeah, it's ego. Absolutely. And he doesn't know where his next pit is coming from. It all comes back to pit. He thinks if I, if I'm the disgraced former president of FIFA, what do I do next? Everyone receives me as that. What do I do? And he's worried. He's only got 75 million in the bank. He doesn't know what he's got to do. He's going to go begging and buskin and stealing. What's what's next? Well, just the arrogance of him, Marley, is like, you remember that Instagram post he did towards the end of the World Cup, which was meditate, pray or watch a football match instead of spreading hate and false rumours about my leadership. Like, get a grip, mate. You're the head of FIFA. People are going to criticize you. They're going to shoot you down. They're going to question you. That's why you get paid $5 million a year. It's just ridiculous. And the game is in a ridiculous position, not just globally with FIFA, but also in the Premier League because we've got some news on Chelsea to discuss after this. Do you remember the days where we used to talk about signings and goals and managers and moments rather than bands and fines and points deductions because I'm struggling to remember those days at this point. Yeah, it's another, another window rolls around, another suspended ban and another how many million spent on what have you. From the same, the same old faces, similar culprits. Yeah. Chelsea, you're a strange club. Do you want to talk about the players that Chelsea have signed or the fact that they're not allowed to sign players, even though they are signing players? It's a bit of a weird one. Do you want to talk about Barco and Wellbeck or do you want to talk about the shit that's gone down behind the scenes? We'll start. Well, let's start with Barco and Wellbeck because at least they're signings to sort of talk about rather than what we've just spent 15 minutes talking about how corrupt FIFA is. So let's soften, train, soften players and what they have. Well, Chelsea and Javier Lonsso, their new manager, seems to have taken this approach where they want to sign experienced players. Jordan Henderson has been signed and now Danny Wellbeck, who of course over the last few years and what you might say would be the twilight of his career has actually been the best, the most fruitful period of Wellbeck's career scoring more goals in a season than he's ever done before at Brighton, regularly staying fit and making an impact and Chelsea and Javier Lonsso have seen this and said he's the kind of guy we want. In our team, we know that Chelsea have had issues with signing strikers in the past. Really, after Didier Drogba, they've not quite got it right. Even Lukaku, who is a goal machine when they signed him back, was an absolute disaster for 100 million euros. So it's been a while since Chelsea have had a striker they can rely on consistently. I don't think Danny Wellbeck will play many games to Chelsea, to be honest. I think it's a strange move. It's one that I've seen since somebody on social media last week say it's kind of like Javier Lonsso has gone in and it's walking into a year-eight class and everyone's hyper and unruly and he's thought I need some sort of teaching assistance here. I need some help. So he's gone for the older English guy to try and instill some sort of professionalism in Chelsea and that's why he's gone for Henderson and Wellbeck. So I think it's a clever sign in because he's going to bring a level of we do this. This is what we do. Like you're talking about Chelsea and you've had players there like Garnath Cho, who is mind isn't there, he's mind thinks he's made it and his talent is questionable. I think Chelsea we've got a few players like that who just basically think they're better than they are. So I think he's trying to do this with Henderson and Wellbeck, coming in, it gives a level of professionalism. I think if James Milner was a few years younger, he'd try and take James Milner as well but I think he's about to hang his boots up and call it a day but yeah on a football level I don't think Wellbeck will play that many games. I don't think he'll score that many goals. I genuinely don't think he's a very good player Danny Wellbeck but I think it's clever of Chelsea to try and help out Jabi with a bit of experience in the dressing room. How about Valensine Barco then? Just played for Argentina at the World Cup. Did he? Barely played. Well, yeah. Part of the squad but didn't win very many. Yeah. Admirers, did he? Place for Strasbourg or did, which is Chelsea's sister club, which is where they got Liam Rossini for them when we know the links and connections between the two teams. But he's now made the move or the step up. Two Chelsea. It's just coming off the back of what he was doing at the World Cup where he was running on the pitch and he wasn't that leveled him. Bellingham slapped him on the back of the head for saying something that he didn't think he could understand I think in the aftermath of the semifinal but yeah just he was a disgrace in the final as well. I think he was one of the ones who was pushing and shoving after full time. But listen, Chelsea signed Dickheads and he's a big old dickhead or he's a little old dickhead, little ginger. Ginger, Argentinian fella. It's funny though because Chelsea got rid of Cucarillo who was probably one of the most sort of pantomime villain hated guys in the league and they've gone we need another one. We need somebody to step into that sort of we'll boo him when we see him because he's a bit of a bellend type of character and they've gone barco's perfect. But again, even that it's got fingerprints of it all over it of something which just shouldn't be allowed to happen which is Chelsea taking players from Strasbourg. Strasbourg signed barco from Brighton and then just sell him to Chelsea. It's like this triangle of clubs is bizarre like Strasbourg of buying using the same money as Chelsea. Strasbourg aren't a big spender but they've got Chelsea's money basically. So they're just being a breeding ground for Chelsea's next generation. They did it with them. The the fella was the NC so was it one and not a one of the two. I can't remember which one it was who ended up at Chelsea in January of last year from Strasbourg randomly and then one and not a I think it was who said I'm looking forward to playing the Champions League and then they left him out the squad and it was only because of an injury to someone else that he got in the Champions League squad and stuff like that. It's just it's so dirty like how is this happening? This this pathway shouldn't exist. It's just Chelsea all over isn't it? Yeah. I wonder how some of the older fans who remember the years under Abramovich feel about this new gen Chelsea and the amount of change because it was hard to keep up within the Abramovich years. The amount players that they would sign every summer 50 million here 50 million there and they would bring players in regularly to try and improve the squad. They always had that spine of the team. They didn't they check Terry Lampard-Drogber. They were the core of the successful Chelsea side and despite the fact that they had managers that chopped and changed almost every other season. You still knew what you were going to get from Chelsea. This new era of Chelsea since Abramovich was forced to sell the club in 2022. This Todd Bowley era. It's so difficult to keep up with who they've got in their squad. You know, they've signed Barco. They've signed Wellbeck. They've signed Morgan Rodgers. They've got Mikhailo Mudrick Beck. There were so many changes happening at Chelsea all the time and I wonder how difficult it must be for the fans to keep on top of everything that's going on. Wait, they've got nine centre backs at the club, nine senior centre backs because they signed Maxine's Laquire because Chalibur, Fafana, Colwell, Baddie Shiel, Dizzassi, Antelmino, a couple of others that I'm forgetting. They're all not good enough apparently. Danny Wellbeck signed in all of a sudden Liam Delapo couldn't really get minutes last season but he spent 40 million on him a year prior to that. He's not good enough. We'll just sign another one. I just hate the way they operate. I hate the way that it's allowed to happen like this. He wasn't good enough so we'll just spend money on more players and then you see other clubs having to do spreadsheet gymnastics to try and afford to buy players to try and keep up like Morgan Rodgers, 170 million, Villa had to sell him, Villa had to sell him because they're trying to compete on a regular basis and they're doing a great job of it but they're still fighting against the tide. It's just not right. It's crazy. The whole situation is just crazy as you say. Liam Delapo won goal in 28 Premier League games for Chelsea. That isn't good enough but he was playing for Ipswich when they got relegated and was the highlight for their Ipswich team. Does that mean he's good enough to play for Chelsea? I don't know. I just not sure about this Chelsea strategy. 170 million pounds for Morgan Rodgers. That makes him I think the most expensive British signing of all time. That's crazy. He now has the pressure of that price tag and as we know at Chelsea, not everything works out. That's the way Chelsea Football Club operate. You know, they've got players on eight year deals where things don't work out. Mark Cooqueray, they sold for a loss. Macarlo Mudrick was banned and he's only just come back. The Lukaku thing, they spent a lot of money on him. Didn't work out. You know, you're looking at some of the signings Chelsea have made. They've thrown a lot of money at their squad over the years and it does feel like if you throw enough shit at the wall, some will stick. That's the whole approach. Someone it'll come good eventually. Like someone will be good. He's not good enough so we'll sign this guy and we'll sell that guy out the back door and no one will really care. Liam Delapo joined someone in either this summer or in January probably and he'll go on to probably be a decent player. You know, I think I said in the telegram group last week that Liam Delapo Everton would be absolutely perfect because he's big and physical and he doesn't need to be technically brilliant to succeed under a manager like David Moise. But he would be a good player. He's just at the wrong club. We all knew it at the time as well. Everyone said, well, yeah, he's good for it switch, but can you really see this guy leading the line for Chelsea? Then they give him the number nine shirt and we all know that that doesn't work at Chelsea because that seems to be cursed because they haven't had a good number nine since God knows when maybe Hasselbank back in the day if he won a deny, I can't remember, but yeah, it's crazy how they just keep getting away with it and just doesn't matter about him. Does that he was 40 million, but now he's getting loaned out to West Ham and he'll probably get loaned out again. You went to Villa, didn't he? And then where will he go this summer? I don't know, he probably find out on deadline day when they're just shipping off the fucking whole city or something. Chelsea have been fined a poultry 10 million pounds, which is 10% of what they pay, of what clubs these days pay for top players. And they've been given a suspended ban from registering new players for two transfer windows for breaching rules relating to payments to agents over a period between 2009 and 2022. So what that means is a bram of itch, the former owner of Chelsea, the Russian oligarch was forced to sell Chelsea football club because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. And that war meant that Roman bram of itch was forced to sell his assets in the UK, one of them being Chelsea football club. We all know that Todd Bowley then bought Chelsea off the back of that. And in 2022 reported 74 breaches of FA rules. Chelsea self reported themselves. They did investigations into the club after Todd Bowley bought the club. And they said to the FA, we have broken the rules. This is prior to our time owning the club, but we have broken the rules as Chelsea admitted to making almost 50 million quid in secret payments to unregistered agents. And third parties over transfers. But this is where it gets interesting, Marley, because despite the fact Chelsea have held their hands up and said, yes, we did this. We accept the punishment because they cooperated and reported it themselves. The six point deduction, which Chelsea were originally set to receive, has since been set aside and suspended until the 30th of June 2027. Had Chelsea been given a six point deduction last season. That would have put them between Everton and Leeds in 13th and 14th place. Chelsea could feasibly have started this season minus six. That isn't going to happen. How do you feel about the fact that Chelsea's points deduction has been set aside to use a direct quote from the press release? So who broke the rules? Was it Chelsea football club? Chelsea Football Club broke the rules by paying money to agents that weren't registered. Now it was Chelsea Football Club under the ownership of Roman Abramovich at the time. Okay, so Chelsea Football Club broke the rules and Chelsea Football Club get to get away with the punishment or like a lighter punishment. It's still then. It's still, you still did it. You still deserve the punishment. So what is the punishment? 10 million is nothing and we all know that. And it has this catch 22 situation of you can only find them on what it's like the fine can't be adjusted for how much money you bring in because you know, we all know to hit Chelsea in the pocket you would have to find them 200 million and you can't do that because the sort of punishment doesn't fit the crime. And it will go to core and it will be appealed and it would just get dragged out like we've seen with the Manchester City case. Absolutely. The only way you can hit teams clubs is with points discussions because that massively affects their their behavior in future. They will sort themselves out and I just think this is it's just such a cop out like how how can we not I don't want to see clubs deductive points but if they're cheating then yes I do. I also want to say I wouldn't be against banning them from signing players like why don't we if we don't want it if we think that points deductions is too harsh. Why not ban them from signing players? Oh well we'll suspend the sentence. Well what's the what's the point? What's the point in suspended sentences in any walk of life? What does that do? Oh don't do it again or you'll go to prison for two years or you'll go you'll get this. Well there are so many different avenues to this Marley because Chelsea is part of the punishment not only if they've been fined £10 million but they'll be banned from registering players for two transfer windows that's fine they can still sign players just go and send them off online go and send them to Strasbourg for two seasons until they're ready to play. Well you know it's it's it's it's a good job they've got a network set up already set for that exactly you know it's all it's a mess just bed there is crap is and you know it's really eroding my love of football it really is and we've been doing this podcast since 2019 and we've won awards for doing this show and I say that as humbly as possible and we're just about to hit 2000 episodes of this show I think we're on one one nine eight at the minute. I know 2000 episodes which is incredible and listen off the back of that I should say thank you for all of your support there are some of you which incredibly haven't missed an episode all 2000 even I've missed episodes and Marley's missed episodes some of you have listened to all of them which is absolutely insane and we couldn't do this without your support we really do mean that but it becomes harder and harder to talk about the actual bit we love which is the football the on pitch stuff where we should be getting excited about signings we should be getting excited about changes of manager and instead I feel like more than ever over the last couple of years we've spent episodes talking about points deductions one club has done this unfairly another club has done this unfairly it's become more like a almost like a podcast around the legality and the fairness of Premier League football rather than the actual football itself you know I want to talk about great goals and great players and and drama you know red cards that shouldn't have been or whatever I don't want to be talking about points deductions and fines and transfer embargoes and it just waters down your enjoyment of the sport it grinds you down and that's that's the position we're in now in Premier League football and we kind of knew this day was coming not specifically this day but this period of a football was coming because it's the right it's been on the wall for ages it just makes it really hard to enjoy football in the same way it does and the more you think about it and the older I think it's the older you get as well and you start to think about how it was back in the day and how it wasn't like this and stuff like that like think about it in the 90s compared to when when we first fell in love with the game it's it's it's it's barely the same sport you know multi club models FFP PSR VAR it's all very very different now and it's it's it's probably be harder to fall in love with it later on like it's it's it's almost like you fall into it naively as a kid because you just you just love it and that's it is what it is and then you as you get older you're like I'm in a minute this isn't right how how's this team meant to compete how's my team meant to ever break through is the carabell cup as best as it ever gets for a new castle fan in a couple of champions league qualifications probably because the red tape is that thick and that long that you're not going to burst through it and it does feel like you know this is this is football now it's off the field as much as it is on it which is not really right it's not really a competition anymore it's almost like a political um sort of who can who can break the rules without sort of breaking them like who can bend them as much as they can into their to their advantage it's it's horrible really but I look above to new season anyway because new castle signed a goalkeeper I don't have to watch Nick fucking Pope every week so bring it on but you will have to watch a new manager and that's the thing the talk about Eddie Howe isn't just a case of Eddie Howe's decided to call it a day it's Eddie Howe's decided to to quit new castle plus there are concerns over the future future direction of the club and the ownership and it just feels like every single story is met with some sort of background yeah yeah some sort of background to it some kind you know are the Saudis going to pull the plug on new castle and what does that mean yeah well the Jordi's one and I don't want to speak out of turn here because I'm not one and you support the club is a team that they can be proud of a team that's competitive and the team that might actually win something and under Eddie Howe that's what they had they had a team that won a carabell cup you know but then football's all about what's next how far can you push yourself and people say to me would you swap winning the FA Cup in 2008 for not hurtling down the leagues and almost going out of business and getting relegated from the EFL no I wouldn't swap that because that FA Cup watching it a Wembley with my dad was one of the best moments I've had in my life let alone watching football you know the emotion of that day and I remember my dad turning to me saying I never thought I'd ever see us win something let alone the FA Cup you know I remember that conversation for the rest of my life I remember that day and I'll also remember equally fondly going down to league two having a crap team and just against the odds digging in and and trying to survive as a football club and the fans coming together I remember that so when people say would you swap that for being in the Premier League all the time I don't think I would but having been through that as a fan that was quite a rollercoaster of emotions to deal with at the time who owns the club how much money have we got in the bank are we about to go bust when's the next high court date for the supporters trust to turn up to to try and rescue the club you know these are all things that you shouldn't really be concerning yourself with as a common football fan the common football fan just wants to turn up to a game or turn the tally on and watch their team win and be competitive they don't want to see cheating they want to see fair play they want to see good football and I feel like unfortunately in the chase to try and get that extra one percent margin football has become horrible in every single way whether it be the World Cup which is meant to be this picture of innocence you know countries competing players playing with pride to represent their nation and you know it gets tarnished in one way the Premier League now it feels like every club has had a points deduction or some sort of ban or suspension it's just the way the money has got out of control is poisoned the game and it just makes it really hard to enjoy it in the same way yep who where does this end where what's the end goal does the Premier League cease does it you know does it change ownership and does it know where like this is going in a completely different direction which is basically a world a world league like not quite the European Super League but does it all get sort of reshuffle like that but like you said Marley it's never enough is it no nothing's ever enough it's it's never enough you said the same thing about infantino earlier five million quid a years and it's not enough you know the Premier League the best football league in the world wasn't enough for United for City for Chelsea for Arsenal for Spurs wasn't enough for them they wanted more so they tried to fuck it off you know like it's it's never enough it's never a spurs spending three hundred million disparaging 17 back-to-back ridiculous yeah it's one of them it's the game needs reform but whether that will have a North London can just piss off can it North London can absolutely do one just Chelsea and Spurs
